there are some popular DW bikes out there - intense, santacurz. giants design is similar. but they're uber $$$ just the frames go at $3k+. it would be on my short list if looking at another bike.

i'm beginning to think them guys dont kno much. horst = 4-bar with link on chain stay otherwise its a "faux" french for false because its really a link activated single pivot. horst is a patented design so brands have to pay to use it so they try to con you thinking a faux is just as good, thats why it needs a floating brake to stop brake-jack. new shocks can be setup to overcome the other problems. there are better designs out there. sorry you'll have to find a new dream bike

its means its effectively a 'single pivot', only one pivot between axel and bottom bracket. its not really good for a number of reasons.
kick-back - where changes in chain length as the wheel moves will pull the cranks backwards
brake-jack - the rear travel locks under braking
pedal bob - as u pedal chain tension can pull the bike thru its travel, too much rear movement when pedalling standing
its left to wizardry in the shock to overcome this.

its a "faux bar" which is like a 4-bar, mine shanes gregs r true 4-bar while this looks it but its the pivot rear the rear axel that is different.
